Manufacturer: Centurion Laboratories, India
Pharmaceutical name: Sildenafil Citrate
The primary ingredient in Cenforce is Sildenafil Citrate. Sildenafil is part of a class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors. This medication is typically prescribed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (male impotence). Sildenafil Citrate influences how the body responds to sexual arousal by utilizing a chemical called nitric oxide, which promotes the relaxation of smooth muscles, thus increasing blood flow to the penis for achieving and sustaining an erection. Additionally, Sildenafil Citrate is utilized in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension.
The usual dosage is 50 mg, taken 30-60 minutes prior to sexual activity. Depending on the side effects experienced, the dosage may be adjusted to 100 mg or reduced to 25 mg. The maximum advised dosage is 100 mg, and Cenforce should not be taken more than once in a 24-hour period. It is advised to avoid high-fat meals, grapefruits, and grapefruit juice while taking this medication.
Before beginning treatment with Cenforce, inform your healthcare provider about any allergies you have. Individuals in middle age may experience heightened sensitivity to the side effects of this medication. Cenforce may induce dizziness or visual disturbances. It is advisable to limit alcohol consumption. Prior to using Cenforce, disclose your medical history to your doctor or pharmacist, particularly regarding: sickle cell disease, high or low blood pressure, severe dehydration, a history of painful or prolonged erections (priapism), eye conditions, heart issues, kidney or liver diseases, pulmonary edema, or abnormalities in the shape of the penis (such as Peyronie's disease). Sildenafil does not offer protection against sexually transmitted infections like HIV.
Cenforce must not be combined with other erectile dysfunction treatments or nitrates, as this can severely lower blood pressure, leading to dizziness, fainting, heart attack, or stroke. It is not suitable for women, children, or anyone allergic to any of its components.
Common side effects include stomach upset, headaches, flushing, heartburn, nasal congestion, dizziness, diarrhea, irregular heartbeat, shortness of breath, or prolonged (over 4 hours) or painful erections. Visual disturbances such as increased light sensitivity or blurred vision might also occur. More serious allergic reactions are uncommon. This is not an exhaustive list of potential side effects; if you experience any unlisted side effects, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Cenforce should not be taken alongside nitrates, recreational drugs like amyl or butyl nitrite, alpha-blockers, other impotence medications, or high blood pressure treatments. Grapefruit juice may elevate sildenafil levels in the bloodstream, while fatty meals may diminish its effectiveness. For further information, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Cenforce is utilized as needed, making it unlikely to miss a dose. If you suspect an overdose, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an overdose may include chest pain, nausea, irregular heartbeat, and light-headedness or fainting.
Store Cenforce at room temperature, between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C), away from light and moisture. Avoid storing medications in the bathroom. Keep all medications out of reach of children and pets.
